Lick Mat

Spread something soft, and let them work it out of the pattern.

Price €16,00

No health or behaviour claims

A silicone mat with a texture moulded into it. You spread something soft across the surface — wet food, plain yoghurt, mashed banana — and your dog has to work it out of the pattern instead of taking it in two mouthfuls.

Why it is built this way

Thin lick mats curl at the edges and travel across the floor. Our specification is food-grade silicone, a full field of suction cups on the back rather than a smooth underside, and a raised-edge pattern that keeps the spread on the mat instead of on the floor.

Care

Wash it by hand: soak it in hot water for a few minutes and use a dish brush on the pattern. The manufacturer states no dishwasher rating for this mat, so we do not claim one. If that changes, this page changes with it.

Good to know

Supervised use only. Check the silicone for bite damage before each use and replace the mat if it is torn. Never spread anything containing xylitol, chocolate, grapes or raisins.

How to use it

The same four steps, whichever piece of equipment you are holding.

  1. Pick a spread

Something soft your dog already eats: wet food, plain yoghurt without sweetener, mashed banana or pumpkin.

  2. Spread it thin

A thin layer across the whole pattern lasts longer than a thick pile in the middle.

  3. Press it onto a hard surface

The suction cups hold on a smooth clean floor tile, the side of a bath, or a glazed wall.

  4. Wash it

Hot water and a dish brush. Soak it first if the spread has dried on.

Questions

What can I put on it?

Anything soft your dog already eats. Never anything containing xylitol, chocolate, grapes or raisins.

Can I freeze it?

Yes. Spread it, freeze it flat, and it takes longer to finish.

Will it stick to any surface?

No. The suction cups need a smooth, clean, hard surface. They will not hold on carpet or textured tile.

How do I get dried food out of the pattern?

Soak it in hot water for a few minutes, then use a dish brush.

Is it dishwasher safe?

We have not confirmed that with the manufacturer, so we do not claim it. Wash it by hand in hot water with a dish brush.
